One of the guys at work has been working with our Iscar rep on a difficult to machine part and the Iscar rep told him something about an Iscar add in on the maint release due out later this month for X4. He didn't get the specifics on it so it left me a bit confused over what the add in will be. Does anyone know if this is just a tool lib enhancement or will this add toolpath options that are optimized for some of the new Iscar tooling geometries?

| There are a few projects in the works which will be launched in the near future. There may be some c-hooks available for use with X4, but the plan is for these enhancements to be released with X5. The best way to keep up to date with upcoming enhancements will be through your local Mastercam reseller. Best regards, Tom |

| thanks Toby TRaun, Our Iscar applications engineer told us about this and when he asked our reseller he was told (speaker phone) that it would be in MRU1. The part is a 17-4 SS block 2X2X12 with a .040 rib sticking up 1.5" in the middle. They are using a variable flute solid carbide endmill to peel mill it to depth. I was on the floor for a large part of the conversation but caught the last when our rep asked the reseller when "that Iscar tooling enhancement" was going to be added as "it would be perfect for this part". Don't know if that narrows it down any but I'm curious about it and was kind of interested in it for a Ti part I have to hog out of rectangular stock as there is no Boeing Certified extrusion to be had right now nor for the immediate future.
