Thank you for the suggestion but that is not what I am looking for.

What I am looking for is a line horizontal or vertical that I can make with 1 input.

If I wanted to make a "1,2,3 block" I would make a horizontal line at 0 and a horizontal line at 2. than I would make a vertical line at 0 and 3. than I would just trim the corners and I am done.

I used this function in Auto-cad and also in surfcam and I like to draw this way.

    Thank you..

Use the rectangle function, Xform Translate Copy Z-1.0.

If you have solids use Extrude Boss, then get Geo from Solids and edges.

I am not familiar with auto-cad so I am having difficulty imagining how to create what you describe in a single click or keystroke...

The best way I could describe how to do this in MC would be to start the Create Line Endpoints function and select either "horizontal" or "vertical" in the ribbon bar and roughly pick a start and end point for the line. Then type the actual X or Y coordinate in the ribbon bar. Pretty fast once you get used to it...

I think Toby's suggestion of using the rectangle function makes even more sense. That has to be even faster than sketching and trimming in autocad.

MasterCam has very minimal drawing capabilities, I use Autocad to do all of my design work then import to Mastercam to generate my route files.

    Smile Interesting

    I don't have a problem with it. I can draw what ever I wan't. 2D, 3D, wire-frame, solid's , surface's. Very easy once you learn the function's.

I see ya. I have been using CadKey, KeyCreator for about 15 years and MasterCam for a little more then a year. I am having a hard time seeing how drawing in mastercam could ever be as fast and effiecent. Could just be 15 years of customising keyboard shortcuts, tool bars, and macros but??

I have yet to figure out trim lines to the current view when they are not on the same plane.

Try setting the 2D/3D mode to 2D
