Having trouble figuring out the toolpath here, has a dovetail>

Want to rough with a 1/2 inch endmill and dovetail with a 3/4 60 degree dovetail bit. Not sure if contour or pocket path to choose. verify always comes out wrong.

To do just the dovetail
2D_contour- 1/2" endmill rough , use top line,
2D_contour- 3/4" dovemill finish, use base line of dovetail form,
extend the lead in / ous of the lines by at least 1/2 the cutter

problem is it wont let me pick that top line. I designed the profile and extruded it. Seems like I may be missing a step to let the lines be chosen individually.

You can create wireframe geometry from your model for the 2D operation
- suggest you select a new level and color

From top toolbar
>create
>curve
>create currve on one edge ( move your mouse over the vertices and select the ones you want )

edge can be of a surface or solid

these then can be selected in your machining op
