Where can these stray dots/points be coming from....

& more importantly how can I get rid of them! (either delete or remove them from my physical view?). They are just a distraction & the cursor sometimes gets attracted to them when I don't want it to!

I am unable to 'highight' these points.

BTW Is there a 'standard' issue way of cleaning up within the Mastercam CAD interface? (other than edit delete - delete duplicates etc)

    Hey Hank,

Go to Settings, Configuration, select the "CAD Settings" group, and uncheck "display arc center points".

    Hi Rob,

You could also utilise the "EA Manager" ( Entity Attributes ) and set certain items to be created in a pre-set colour, level, linestyle and thickness

start off by setting ( these are examples )
-Points to always be drawn in red and in the 3D style
    -Solids in Dark grey
-Dimensions, text and labels in Yellow
-Xhatch in navy blue and level #199 ( you don't have to see it, it'll print out OK )

you can find this in the system config [alt-F8] ( I forget which catagory it is under)

    also

it is good practice to place selected geometry for certain operations on different levels, and keep solids away from surfaces ( very hard to select a surface when a solid is also there, without having to go find other buttons to mask them out )

I typically place the initial part solid on level #100, the surfaces from the solid on level #101, and curves created from the solid on level #102, dims on the next ( this way you set a standard, you know exactly which one to turn on when checking toolpaths for gouging ) these levels should be kept as a "Master Set" and copied to another level for mods.

any levels before the master set would be for stock material , design work etc
and levels after 100-102 would be for the actual machining and set-up ( fixtures, clamps, vyces, etc. )
    ie 1000-1999 for op#1, 2000-2999 for op#2 etc

    Food for thought ????
    Steve

PS if you create drawings of items for fixtures, vices, sub-plates and the like. Save these on a very high level # ( say 89999) so when you "Merge" into a current file , they don't mess with a level you have something else on ( then change their level in the current file )

Thanks for the speedy response Matt - it was kind of what I was after (but it's an all or nothing - now that I've played with that, I now realise what I actually want, is to keep circle centre points - but I need to diferentiate them more easily I guess)

Superman ....a superb follow up....a lot of stuff to get my grey matter whirring.

    Thanks a bundle!
