hi people, in x3 am trying to produce a sweep path with a solid, but am having trouble getting the corner correct. its just a 25mm circle along a line with a 90deg bend, with a 2.5 rad on the corner. i can get the corner i need using surface sweep, but when i try and do a solid sweep i get errors unless i have at least a 12.5rad on the corner. what am i doing wrong? thanks all |

| The inside corner is your problem. If you look inside the surface (that worked, so you say) you might find some "extra surface" as the inside radius at a R 2.5 bend is going to be minus 10.5. Might be easier to sweep the outside halfway, using the 2.5 radius, then the other half with a sharp corner (on the inside) |

I tried the same operation as you described , started with .250 rad. & same error. Finally got it to work correctly with .500 rad. My guess is maybe a limitation on what size rad. you can use ? Not really sure. Maybe someone with more experience with this can clairify. Regard's Harold C |

| The radius at the centerline of your tube/cylinder needs to be at least 12.5mm (radius value of the dia.) for you to ba able to sweep this part correctly. Otherwise the only way you can do it with a smaller radius at the 90 is to have a partial miter on the inside of the corner. Beege, is correct when he says you will have "extra surface" all wrinkled up on the inside. |
