check the mach3 site, there are a PP for mastercam there.
Hi all-
I just finished CNC'ing a small desktop mill using a G540 gecko driver and am using Mach 3 control software. I use Mastercam X for part layout and toolpathing. Does anyone know which post-processor I should use with this setup? If not, does anyone have a post-processor for Mach 3 or know of any simple or easy to use (I'm not a computer guy... yet) resources I might look into to code my own?
Thanks-
Farasien

Hi all-
I downloaded the MCX post from the mach3 forum, but I have no idea what to do with it... Does anyone know where I paste the folder in the MCX program archetecture, and what I do from there? Are there any setups I need to do after loading it into the folder it goes into?
Thanks again-
Farasien
In your install folder on hard drive , mill folder, post's folder, put it there. You may have to tweak your machine & control def's to output the code you want. Read the help file's.

OK... I got ahold of one of the postprocessors out there and put it into MCX, running the updater program to make sure all is well. Ran it, I asked the program to make a new machine profile to fit the new postprocessor and it did so. Re-toolpathed my part using the mill definition the updater made and ran it, and I keep getting 2 weird things happening...
1. Whenever I run any kind of circular interpolated pocket, I get this weird message saying something along the lines of "Line ### arc not lined up where line ### ends" or somesuch.
2. OK, so I just deleted the line to check out the rest of the prog, and the machine interprets this as if I wanted to make a pocket larger than the machine envelope.
I have no idea what's going on. I assume that #2 is caused by the deletion of the line. I've tried the post processor for MCX/M3 and it obviously has issues. I tried the generec FANUC processor, and I get similar issues as #1.
Anybody have any suggestions? I'm miles past stumped.
