Seems that a few of us have questions about the 4th axis. I don't know which toolpath to use. The picture cnczone1 shows the raw material and the final part The file CNCzone2 shows what I can do with simple contour toolpaths, but I can't take off the material between the two flats. I pre-machined my raw material. The 4th axis is parallel to the cylindrical axis of the part. I guess I'd want to do is either : 1- do a cut as the 4th axis rotates, move down the part and do another cut or 2- Do cuts along the axis and the rotate the 4th axis between each cut. but I don't know which toolpath to choose( I've tried all of them and looked in the help, which was no help) Any ideas? |
