4th Axis Engraving

Ok I have a part I need to make and it is a simple ring but I need to engrave around the outside. The engraving looks like how a ruler would look. Little lines and numbers below the lines.

My question is how would I go about creating a toolpath in Mastercam 9 to do this.

Have a go at creating the geometry

Toolpath you would/can use is 2D Countour, Rotary axis ON, your geometry drawn flat and in the direction of the "wrap"
Cutter comp OFF

NOTE,,, we have a machine that doesn't like arcs when doing C-axis machining, so if a problem arises, I suggest converting them to splines.

In Milling Y-Axis Substitution is what I use to wrap ruled text on a cylinder. Granted I have little experience but it works with simple applications.

Is it the same with a Lathe C-Axis?
