Hi, I just downloaded X4 from the MC website and thought it would run in demo mode as I don't have any license or dongle-I just want to learn it a bit befor I got to school for it to better my resume. How can I get x4 up as a no save-no post program? esprit and BobCAD have DEMO modes. I am in hopes that MC does, too. |

| Mr Thompson, I find this post a little funny as CNC software has not posted the release of X4 on there site just yet. So I am not sure were you got either a link or a copy given to you. but at this time X4 is not able to run without a dongle. so you need to go take a class at a collage and ask about a Student version for home. I will say that CNC software is considering the option you are asking for.

| Allen, You can get a "demo" version from any reseller which has the "no-save/no post" level of functionality you desire. There are also other little nuisances in the software to make it less usable in an industrial setting. It is perfect for training or even "viewing" existing files to run the backplot or whatever... Unfortunately it will probably be at least a few weeks or possibly even months before they update the demo software. I am certain you could get an X3 demo now though... |

| The X4 demo that is coming out says it will let you save your work. Featured in the X4 Training Tutorial line: * New X4 features such as Dynamic Plane and Dynamic Mill toolpaths. * More emphasis on the machinability of example parts with suggested fixtures, tool setups and grouping for multiple setup scenarios. * Clearly laid out objectives featuring dimensioned step previews. * X4 Demo software – now with the ability to save your work! * Multimedia Training CDs for our popular titles. To order, call 800.529.5517 or contact your local reseller. |
