What version? MC9 the procedure is: Menu: SCREEN .. Change Levels .. pop up .. copy .. choose level to copy to .. choose what you want to copy and . Done
hello all, i recently lucked out on an opportunity to do some entry level programming. i am a newbie programmer, got about a year under my belt, almost all 2axis lathe stuff. now im getting into some mill stuff, with some complex profiles that requires multiple toolpaths on the same geo. so i am wanting to create new levels so i can modify my existing geo. to simplify chaining. but i cant remember how to do it? (its been about a 8 months since i needed more than 1 level LOL) so how would i go about just using my existing geo to create a 2nd level with the exact same geo without having to redraw? any and all help will be greatly appreciated. thanks.![]()

X2, same deal?
To change levels on X2 you pick what you want to change to another level and right click on the word level and it will pop up a dialog box to ask you if you want to move or copy to another level.
If you want to create a new level you can left click the word level at the bottom of the screen or push Alt-Z, that will bring up the level manager.
Hope this helps.

Do you mind if I ask why your redrawing the profile for different cuts?

noy really redrawing, copying some entities to a different level so i can modify it. ex: i have a counterbored hole that needs chamfered. but the counterbore is split vertically by 2 different heights. the lower of which i cant chamfer all the way around because there is stock in the way. so i copy the bore to another level and trim the circle so i can cut the partial chamfer. keep in mind i am drawing everything in 2D. havnt had time to get much into 3D yet.
