Mastercam X3 Help??

Hey guys whats up.. Im a young machinist who is interested in getting into a little bit of programming. I have a copy of mastercam X3 which is what the company i work for uses. But my questions is do any of you guys no any free software that i can download or any tips on helping me get started. I have been practing drawing and doing simple tool paths but nothing major. Hi Mike,
welcome to the forum

A couple of things that will help you,
---Any dialog box, or any place that has a ? , is a help , it will give info pertaining to that area you are currently in.
---Check the video directory under you McamX installation
---Sample programs exist under machining types ( mill, lathe etc ) and also sub-divided up into complexity ( 2D , surface paths, multi-axis etc) as an aid to programming.
---This forum, and emastercam

Remember: experience is the best teacher, yes- you will pick the wrong toolpaths, ( very often ). And you will be told that by people who can't drive Mcam, just as often.
