Create Letters Question...

Working with mcx2 and I am wanting to know if there is a way to quickly change what letters I am creating....? I already put the "create letters" option in my right mouse button drop menu. Just have a lot of letters to create and it is a pain and a waste of time right-click/create/click ok/stamp/ esc/ right-click/ create/ type new letters.... ing..

Would like to right-click/ create/ type/ click ok/ stamp/ type new letters...

Follow that?

Mike

Honestly it sounds like your working a printing press, LOL.

Is letter creation really that painful in MC??

Sorry for asking a question in your question, but I'm trying to make a few decisions

The only way around the problem, is to place the text you want as "Notes" first. Then you can copy and/or edit it, but you won't be able to apply toolpaths to it unless you "Break Drafting". Once you "break" it you will be able to apply toolpaths, but you will no longer be able to edit it as text.

Create letters is nice, but definitely NOT user friendly!!

Mike,
you can customize your toolbar so the create letters is in your toolbar. If you right click in an open section in your toolbars. Go down to Customize. Change category to Geometry and drag the Create Letters button (the button with "L") where you want it in your toolbar.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Mike,
I did some checking you can also make a short cut key for it if you like. Go to Settings, Key mapping, goto geometry category, click on the create letters button, click in the New shortcut key window. Press the keys you want to use for this example: ALT+L

Why not just create all you letters at once in the window for Create letters
It is just like any other windows text editor...hit enter and it drops down a line put spaces between them ...etc.
then put them on the screen and use translate if they're not where you want them

ACAD

You can use ACAD duplex or simplex font and import the DWG into BOBCAD.
It works easily, but you have to do you own pen-up pen-downs. Dunno why.
I just fix the code.with a little program I wrote.
Backup you gcode before you apply this fix program.
