Hi All, Just cut my first 4th axis toolpaths and am pretty excited. And although I was able to generate paths that would wrap over my edge radius if I used an Axial path, I would really like to figure a way to accomplish this using a rotary cut path. I'm not sure I was making sense in previous posts, so I've included snipped jpegs of the 2 different Mastercam X results (rotary path only approaches edge of part, never wraps over). Is there a way to fake it or force it to roll over final radius? Or, is there some reason it can't do that? Also- for 4 axis, ball endmill programming in general, can anyone recommend any good resources to learn more about cutting strategys/hints in general? For example- how best to determine lead angles, why/when to use differnet comp types? It seems there is a lot to consider to get good resuts, and very little I can find on the subject. Thanks as always. Jeff |

| Look at getting one of the inhouse training books.
