| Try circle mill ...or contour if you don't need center clean out There is always a toolpath in Mastercam to get what you want ...very seldom need the toolpath editor for basic operations...post your file if you need more help |

| He is asking this question on more then one forum. I am reading both and not sure what you are not getting from Mastercam.

| Sounds like he wants to create his program in the Toolpath Editor, rather than just using Mastercam to create toolpath. It's always nice when people experiment with new ways of doing things. But when someone deliberately wants to do something the hard way, I dont get it. Use the system the way it's intended to work and it will do what you want. The toolpath editor is not for creating toolpaths. It's for EDITING toolpaths created in Mastercam. You can take a move out or put a move in. But to try to create a toolpath from scratch in the Toolpath Editor Does Not Make Sense. Your Doing It The Hard Way. Mike Mattera

| Why buy Mastercam? I used to use a calculator, my trig book, and notepad. Ahh the good old days.........Hours and hours of typing G-code. OK, Joking aside............ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- There are plenty of tutorial cd's around and online classes available. I would suggest a cd first.....see how that pays off first......then maybe some online classes or some one-on-one training from your reseller. Mastercam, when used correctly, should not need manual edits to your G-code. The editor is mainly for proofreading your code. You can manipulate your geometry, toolpath method, and input values to get what you are looking for, as well as manipulate how your post outputs code for a particular machine. With a little investment in learning how to use the software to your advantage you can save a lot of time and frustration in the long run. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
