For starters what version again of MC are you running this make the difference of what version of SW we give you.

And for a second thought remember that what is top in SW is front in MC.
So it might need to be reorientated the part that is.

I do all my designing in SW and all my CAM in MCX2.

When I save my SW part I do it as a sldprt. When I open MC I click on the open icon, select the folder the part is saved to, at the bottom of the dialog box I select sldprt as file type, and then choose the model I am wanting to work on.

Make sense???

I forgot to ask, have you downloaded the SolidWorks translator?

Import the solidworks file.
That will be on level one
open level two
go to create, surfaces, from solid
Then open level three
go to create, curves, all edges
now youhave the wireframe on level three, surfaces on level two and the solid on level one.
This is a quote from PBMW on another forum

Mastercam already reads SWorks file, You dont need to download any translator. It's already in there.

File - Open - File Type - SLDPRT (Solidworks)
Look at the "Options" button before opening the file.
It will automatically create wireframe for you during import.
If you have your EA Manager set in your defaults, it will sort out the wireframe and solids on to different levels (Bottom tray - Attributes - EA Mgr).

If you have Mastercam X1, go to Mcamx\Data\Translators\Solidworks if you just want to import any solidworks file.

It's not just wire frame, it's a solid. Hit Alt "S" to turn on shading.

We machine top and bottom of a Solidworks file in this CD.

Something to consider.
