    Question Communicating with the machine

    Hello,

    I am having some problems getting the Mastercam X Editor to communicate with my FADAL machines, Mastercam itself post them fine as Format 2. But in the Editor there is no FADAL.xml file to choose in the list of controls. In the past we have been using a old PC that has been running MC6 to send files out and everything worked fine. The guy that set up everything is long gone and I am having some issues getting a newer PC to carry out these tasks now. Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

    GM

    Check the baud rate, parity, stop bits, xon/xoff, and dtr/rts settings at the control and set them the same in your editor/comm program.

    If it's X, You might have some problems. X2 of X3 should work OK. There were some problems with the initial release of the Mastercam Editor and it's communications.

    If you also have V9 you can copy the Cimco editor from V9 to the X folder and use that for communications.

    I have taken the baud rate, parity and stop bits from the old working setup, as for the and dtr/rts, I toggled between them on and of to try and narrow it down. Also, I tried installing Predator since there was a possible problem with the mastercam editor, but it doesn't seem to work also. What else could I be missing? Thanks for the suggestions!

    Or use the cimco thats aready in mcamx\common\editors\cimcoedit5 ??

    Didn't x come with cimco5 ?
    I have X2.

    You can also use the legacy comm setting in:
    system config---> communications.
