Need Help!- First Time Facing with Mastercam

Hey,

We all already know that I'm a newb with mastercam, I can barely get beyond opening the program. I've imported my Pro/E Part and I want to create the toolpath for facing to the depth i'd like. I know enough to go to toolpath>>Face but from there when it comes to selecting my Chain or area or whatever I can never seem to get anything that remotely works. Any help on this or another fantastic video I can watch from that guy?

Click on the question mark at the bottom of the toolpath window MC's help files are second to none I think you'll find the info you need there

You need some sort of a chain that is the outer boundary of the area you are trying to face then just fill in the depth in the toolpath screen as a minus number

It always helps to post a file when asking for help

JWB can you share what you are tryong to face. as I can give you some help if I knew what you are trying to face. Also are we talking mill or Lathe?

We're talking Mill, I managed to figure out what I needed to this time. I liked your video though. I will probably be fully looking into what you have posted on your website.
