| Mastercam does have nesting capabilities. We have it here. IMHO....it sucks!! I have never successfully created a nest. It would randomly decide which parts it wanted to load into the nest. I finally gave up. We can do it faster thru our cnc control editor. |

| Specific questions? Ok, I got one! ....Mastercam X3, full featured, with Art. I'd like to "nest" an array of simple holes within a part. That is, I'm creating a shape for a part, a flat plate that may have curves or irregular features on the outside, and some large openings within. How would I go about nesting an array of arcs, or points, within the part? Simply nesting within a rectangle prior to shaping the part won't work because the end result is aeshetic. So far, I've been coming up pretty empty. |

as for nesting points this can not be done as there is not true shape to nest against. I suggest create point and you array then you can adjust on the fly by change distance and what point stay and go.

| By "full featured" I meant that I have the complete package. Array doesn't work for my application. Thanks for the feedback, it just confirms that the program won't do what I need. That's ok, wasn't expecting miracles, and now I'll just take a different approach. |

| This might be a little outside the box but have you looked into Plunge Roughing to do what you want??? I don't know what Level of MC you would need but know they have this type of feature. Just throwing it out there as a possible option.
