file conversion question

I have a "borrowed" copy of mastercam X2. I have had it just a short while and haven't gotten into it to much. I have been using Millwrite 2000 for about 2 years for engraving and other 2D stuff. its biggest crux is that it only imports autocad 14 DXF files. I tried to use mastercam to convert EPS files to dxf. millwrite and autocad 14 won't open them. is this because mastercam saves in autocad 2000 dxf? I was told that they are different. I have been learning this craft on my own in my backyard shop so any help i can get will help. Don't assume i already know something because I probably don't.

ok. I was using the wrong dxf version. but i still have the same problem with millwrite. autocad 14 opened it although it was distorted some. I figure that happened in the conversion. I guess i will have to start learning mastercam now. I was waiting for my skill level to exeed the abilities of Millwrite. Boy, ya'll are going to get so sick of me.
also, wasn't there a thread for posting shop picks? The last time I posted I had not even taken delivery of my machines yet. now I am ready to show off.
