    multiple work offsets in MCX

Sorry to put up another post but you guys have been SO much help, I thought I might be able to get another question answered. Our current method for 4 part offsets is to program a part, post it, and copy/paste it. That leave a lot to be desired if we have to change something or it is a long program. Is there a simple way to do this in X2?

For instance using t1-t3 and G54-G57. We always run T1 from G54-G57, then return wtih T2 from G57-G54, and so on unless there is a reason to do otherwise. We always prove a program on one offset so we would post it, then copy/paste and call it "4x" or something. Is there an easier way in X2 to do this? I would like to compare for more complex programs and simple 2 tool programs.

I'm also trying my first offset(s) program. I'm using Transform Toolpaths, transforming each with the same tool 1st, then 2nd tool,etc..to get the same tools used all together. I used Transform:Method=ToolPlane, Assign New(0 to get G54) for the 1st group of toolpaths, then Assign New(1 to get G55) for the 2nd toolpaths.

My problem is that when I post the code, it wants to generate 2 files, wanting to overwrite the 1st file generated. Shouldn't it be just one .nc file?

    Thanks (I'm using MR2-Sp1)

Thanks for the quick reply. Right now I have 2 copies of the same toolpath, except setting the 1st one to Assign 0:increment 0,,,and the 2nd one to Assign 1:increment 0 - thinking each toolpath would be at a different offset.

Changing either of them to disable posting - makes the other one dirty. They are both translating the same single toolpath#3.

Should I set the assign to 0 and the increment to 1 and that will give me both offsets with one toolpath?

Tried this - gives me 4 offsets - because of 4 x-steps in the translation....

Make sure you are only picking the tranform path and post and see if you get more then one. if not aI may know the answer.

I thinks its a problem with my disabling of toolpaths because of the way I have done it.

    Toolpath1. I started with a single cavity.
Toolpath2. Translated toolpath1 to make 5 copies up.
Toolpath3. Translated toolpath2 across 4 steps to get 20 copies.

So toolpath3 has the complete g54 run, and now I need a G55...

As I write this, I see I might be able to combine 2&3 into a single toolpath...

So I think I have my posting dis-abled / Enabled in the wrong places...going to do some playing.....will report back

    Sure - I stripped out all the junk - except a single toolpath that needs a G54 & G55.

I think I've tried every combination possible - but it still wants to generate two .nc files.

I also tried a new file, just made a simple square with a pocket toolpath, and transformed it to 2 work offsets - other than an error about more than 1 work offset in a single view...seemed to work OK

Starting to think its something in this drawing....

    Thanks for all your help.
