Need Help!- MasterCamX Printing issues

I'm trying to print out my drawings and they keep either printing out as white lines on a black peice of paper...or as very light grey lines (the greyscale equivelant of light green).

For the life of me i can't find the controls to prevent this and get a "normal" printout of black lines on white paper!

FYI, I am using MasterCam as my employer wants me to have electronic prints of all the bits i'm making up for our welders... The only training i have is watching a how-to video. lol

Are you printing to a laser printer and what version of Mastercam X are you using?

I am printing to a Xerox Workcentre Pro 255 photocopier/fax/etc...am told it's similiar to a laser printer but not the same.

And I am using MasterCam X (10.0.12.2)

OK you are running the first release of Mastercam X there were some printing issues with that version. you need to move up to at least Mr1 for the issues to be fixed.

Also review my picture and give this a shot.

The fix offered didn't change the situation and I'm told that "This is the copy we have, we're not buying another."

Perhaps it is possible to change the lines shown on the screen to black instead of green (or just start over with black lines)...but is it possible to change the background colour on the screen?

My thought is thus - atm, the printer is either printing the green lines as very light grey, and is sometimes also printing the blue screen background as a dark gray. Perhaps if we use black lines on a while screen, the printer would print black lines on the white paper?

If I am not mistaken...

You could download Mastercam X MR1/SP2 for free (assuming you have a legal seat and not pirated software). This software will run as SP2 (but not with the added features of MR1 unless your maintenance was paid up to at least DEC 1, 2005)

Hopefully this would fix your issue without costing you any $$$

The copy is legal, but the hasp is missing (the IT folk were less than efficient)...and the current powers-that-be just say "make it work". (They also can't find the receipt.)

It's the original disk, so i believe it is legal, but for all intents and purposes, we'll have to consider this an unsupported copy. <sighs>

Problem solved!!! (sortof)

By going into Settings, Configuration, and Colours, I was able to set everything up in black and white...(black lines, white background) and that's exactly what printed!

If you do not have a Sim it is being run illegal!!!!!!!

Fozzie sorry I didn't tell how to get around the issue but that is a quick fix as Mastercam now a days does this for you when you hit print.

PS you are running illegal software.

No worries, I'm just now figuring out how to change the colours on previously drawn files.
