Newbie- Problems with pocketing in Mastercam X

Hi all, I'm trying to learn Mastercam X on my own with the aid of some books and videos. I have Mastercam X Demo and I am having problems creating a pocketing toolpath for the ellipse in the attached drawing. I can do a profile toolpath and drill toolpath but can't get the pocket toolpath to work. I also found by drawing a circle or square I can do a pocket for those no problem. I'm sure I'm not doing something right so I thought I'd come here for help.

You have a duplicate elipse use delete duplicates.
it works fine after that.

no such thing as stupid when learning this, just remember next time you can't get the toolpath to work you will think back at this. maybe not right away but you will remember.
Don't be so hard on yourself.

where do you go to delete duplicates in mastercam x
when I highlighted the elipse then I went to edit, then delete duplicate
it just gave me a pop up saying zero for lines ,arcs, and ect . how come it does not want to work for me.

There is a icon that has what looks like 3 pencils.
select all entities delete duplicates . it is actually a spline that is duplicate so if you select splines in the selection area that will work too.
