verify stock setting

hi experts,

new to mc x2, and for the life of me i cannot get the stock to show properly.
trying to machine a 22mm af hex on a 30mm round stock, standing vertical as if in a chuck on the table for an example.
in stock setup i pick cyl on 'z' axis, 30 dia, 10 high, origin x0 y0 z-10.
it displays correctly on the profile as a cyl.
then i pick contour toolpath and define a path around the outside etc, but when i click on verify it shows a rectangle.
what am i missing, doing wrong?
something basic i suspect.

so i have to pick cyl in the stock setup tab AND in the config verify page?

Actually it should default to this after picking it in Stock setup. I did not have to pick it on mine but I have seen this happen before and this is usually the culprit.
