Angry

I personally can't tell the difference, not to say that there is not any.
I hate having to pay the 1,500.00+ for maintenance each year when 90% of the time, there is nothing worth upgrading or maintaining. I can see maybe every 3 years but not every year.

Good question. It's easy enough to get confused with software application company's jargon. Nobody wants to pay for fixes to design flaws that are discovered in a program. So some companies will use a SP or Service Pack to resolve these issues. These are generally free. Some companies charge for SP's which is ridiculous.

On the other hand, is the MR or Maintenance Release. A Maintenance Release is usually a collection of requested changes by a group of users or their internal engineering that enhances the current release level. Hence MR1 MR2 etc. You will almost always pay for these.

Generally, a good rule of thumb is that a company should issue an SP before any MR. Some companies only issue Maintenance Releases, which means you are paying them to resolve issues in their product. Not a good deal for you.

MR2 is the current version for Mastercam X2. SP1 is applied to it to form "MR2 SP1".

One of the updates(I don't remember) changed the numerical input boxes to yellow and made them able to calculate. Best update in a while!!

I like the update to mr2. Great new options to high speed milling. Well worth it to me.
