I'm having trouble applying toolpaths to an imported pro/e file in mastercam. I am currently using version 9. If anyone could help i would greatly appreciate it! thanks in advance Last edited by turbopwr; 07-31-2008 at 02:03 PM. |

| Sorry...i should have included more informantion. When i select toolpaths-Rough-chain its says "branch point reached : select new branch or.. reverse,back-up, end here" The pro/e file has already been converted for mastercam. thanks for the reply! |

| I suppose you are turning and not milling... If possible import a dxf of a cross section of the part. What I sometimes do is copy the selected geometry to another level, it then boils down to trimming away the entities not required for the toolpath. regards

| i think you get the branchpoint reached message when your chain is not closed,as in a single entity, if that is the case you will need to continue selecting the chain from where the red arrow stops. hope this answers your question. also check for duplicate lines,arcs etc.

| Tim is correct, if you have joined lines on your model and or the chain is not in a spicific plane. the red arrow will stop at the end point(branch point) of each segment. You then have to manually pick the next segment you want until you reach the end or close the chain. steve arteman www.cad2cam.net
