cadcam,
Yeah I've thought about getting them demo'ed in MC but finding the time is a little hard to do. In addition to getting the router in 2 months we are in the midst of a total facility move into a new building next month. So needless to say there is a lot going on. I just started to research MC to learn about it. Mainly because it is pretty much a done deal that we are getting the router and MC to run it. We have to make the decision on whether we will transition from our current main software Esprit, and our secondary Artcam pro, over to MC totally for both the mill and router. We do have the luxury of having MC in another office running a router, so I may go over there and check it out in more depth when I have the time. I'll definitely be asking more questions to get a little more aquainted with it in the coming weeks.
point cloud,
Some of the types of things I'm machining are artifact recreations. They can be anything from stone idols, human skulls, etc. The work varies, actually coming up soon, I'll be machining a recreation of a human burial that dates back to the 1700's. Needless to say they are huge files.
One other set of questions not really related to MC ART, but mainly relating to MC. How different are interfaces for MC Mill and MC Router? If we buy a seat of Router, can we also buy an add-in license to get access to Mill functions? The reason I ask is that we will be running two different types of machines. The router will have an angle head (aggregate) and the mill is being upgraded with 4th axis rotary.
Thanks for the replies that the 2 of you have given. I'm sure I'll hear more from you guys as i ask questions.
