| to be honest i havent had time to experiment with the new features. i spent about 2 hours looking over some of the new items when i downloaded the upgrade but i have so many projects going on at the moment i am working 90 miles an hour just to get them all done,as quickly as possible. i could use some tips on how to use all the new features x3 just released. from what i understand in order to use the feature based machining recognition does it have to be a solidworks part? can you use a solid model created in Mastercam? thanks tim

| FBM does not have to be used with a SW file. the only place you get any thing extra using a SW file is in the FBM Drilling were if you have SW on the same computer and tell it to read a Sldprt file it will check for holes defined as Taped be Feature base machining. but all the tools can be used with all solids imported or created in MC.

| FBM is a great feature added to the upgrade,i also like the ras2vec which i havent had time to find on the toolbar. the 2d hst will also be great to have. theres no doubt about it Mastercam hit it out the ball park on this last release.
