I am trying to create a proper toolpath with a .250 ball endmill. I have tried numerous toolpaths and settings and cannot get the ball endmill to follow the cavity in the bottom of the cylinder. What am I missing? See attached file. Using Mastercam X |

| In a request for the file in MC9 here it is. Yes I have 3D capabilities, at least I think I do, I have been doing quite a bit of drawing in 3D. Mill level 3 is what the program states. The drawing is actually just an example that I quickly drew out in 3D, I cannot send the actual part drawing I drew out as it is confidential and very complex, but this represents part of the drawing with my only option is to use a .25 ball endmill to carve out the center of the rod and the tolerance is also critical +-.0005 . I would rather have it explained how it is done then rather have it done for me. Thanks |

| Try using a highspeed waterline or scallop toolpath. scallop was abou a minute faster. is the center of cavity already roughed out? if it isnt try using highspeed area clearance toolpath. it will follow the radius at the bottom also then go over it with a highspeed scallop or waterline. u can set the scallop hight with the scallop program also |

| X7racer, There are as many different ways to program this as there are programmers. Here is another option for you to consider. This file is V9.
