Need Help! Facing around a boss - CNCzone.com-The Largest Machinist Community on the net!

Im still new to MC. I have run into an issue I cannot figure out on my own.

I am machining a part with a raised boss structure in it. How do I face off the surrounding area?

With a Pocket tool path.

MACONA,

do you have 3D mastercam? I use surface rough pocket extensively. if you need more help, send me the file if you like and I can get a better feel for the problem,

I got it. I kept forgetting to select pocket facing with both chains. I was wondering why is wasnt working! Doh!

I do have 3D I just have not gotten around to using it. 99.9% of the stuff I do is 2.5D.
