This must be a bug.
I have MC X2 and the most files are on a network drive. The weird is that more than one can open the same file without knowing that is already in use by another one. If the second user change anything and hit the save button. It looks that is saved but I really is not. Same problem when posting the NC code, if there is a save version already when second user want to overwrite the old code. He think he have done that, but it's really the first version that is coming up in the editor????????
Hope you guys understand what I mean.
Anyone notice this?
It is not a server or network issue, because it is only in MC this happens.
I don't think that's a Mastercam issue. I think you're used to Microsoft Word and Excel. They do 'user checking' to see if the file is in use elsewhere. Most other programs don't do that.
We have this same problem with Catia assemblies. Multiple users will open a large assembly but each will work on a different part. If any of them does a 'Save All' it over-writes all the other files that are open at that moment.
Try it with a Notepad file. I would bet that you and the other user can take turns filing over it and you won't get any errors or alarms.
