Engraving around on angled surface?

I'm trying to do a project where I turn a piece with a 45* edge, and later want to engrave on this surface, so it is angled, and around the part. How would I go about doing this. I can either engrave it on a 3 axis VMC or on a 3 axis TC.

it would help if you posted a file but you can probably create a surface on the 45 deg area then create a construction plane perpendicular to the 45 deg surf and project the letters onto the surface once this is done a 3d contour with comp set to off should do the job

Or like tstom stated but don't need to project the letters the d3 contour. Just put the letters above were you want them and to tool path finish project and project the curves being the letters and it will right the path on the surface.

Here's the piece and the text. I'm not quite sure I follow you guys as I'm fairly new to MasterCAM. I understand the idea, or creating the surfaces and projecting it, but don't know how to do it, can you be more specific? Will this wrap the text making it perpendicular all the way around?

For starters I could not use your text as it was not on the curve.
So I made new letters. did not know the font so they don't match.

Next your solids should of been solid not solids so I made them one.Does this have to be this way to do what you wanted NO. But the proper way is a a single solid. and this made it so I could use the solid for my stock setup so you could verify.Review photo below.
I have also included my file for your review.

I used Surfaces project curves toolpath.

Ahh, now I understand, thank you very much cadcam. I actually do want to use the font I have, and don't know the font, so I created with lines /arcs tracing over a bitmap. I guess I'll try to just rotate each letter individually around the chamfer, then project it, should work.

So you know you can use any font on your computer so you could experiment and see what might work for you. then I told it to create letters on a lower are using a .700 radii above it.They were .1 tall.
Were you able to review the file to?

Have fun.

Yup, I looked it over, and I'm working on my version now. I just tried to set up the project finishing tool path, but it says "Level 2 is required for surface machining" so I guess my version can't do it. When it boots up it says Mill Level 3, so I wonder why it won't let me use that function.
