I normally start with the feeds and speeds given in the catalog from the manufacturer of the tool I am using. If I still have problems I can't solve, then I give them a call for additional suggestions.
I just plug it in manually in the tool parameters when defining the tool.
Like a .750 insert cutter.
For RPM I use:
Desired surface speed / dia. cutter * 3.82
ex: 400sf / .750cutter * 3.82 = 2037RPM
Then:
For chip load:
RPM * cutter flutes * desired chip load
ex: 2037RPM * 3flutes * .003" chip load (per-flute) = F18.33 (ipm)
Now adding to my other posting to this question here is are more option on the fly.
