    Smile Speed & Feed

    hello every one i m new here i wont to know haw we calculate speed & Feed for cnc programing i know when we make program mastercam give as speed & Feed but haw we can calculate for deffrance material IS THERE ANY SOFTWERE FOR THIS cau some one help me plz..thnx you

    I normally start with the feeds and speeds given in the catalog from the manufacturer of the tool I am using. If I still have problems I can't solve, then I give them a call for additional suggestions.

    I just plug it in manually in the tool parameters when defining the tool.

    Like a .750 insert cutter.

    For RPM I use:
    Desired surface speed / dia. cutter * 3.82
    ex: 400sf / .750cutter * 3.82 = 2037RPM

    Then:

    For chip load:
    RPM * cutter flutes * desired chip load
    ex: 2037RPM * 3flutes * .003" chip load (per-flute) = F18.33 (ipm)
