change color

Quick & simple question, Know how to change background color, grid color, in setting's, configuration's, color's, but can't find where to change color's to make the text in bottom, left side of graphic's area, Gview,WCS & Cplane darker or lighter. Also the scale on the right side, on bottom. I like a light background color & with this text being light color also, makes it hard to see. Using X. Thank's Harold.
