    lathe cross section

I am looking to turn a parasolid file.

Is there a easy way to create a cross section of curves on a solid.

What version? If your selecting a solid, it will cross section it for you. Or you can section it yourself.
This is for X/X2 and it covers the topics you have questions about in great detail.

    They are using Mastercam9

I will look in the help section about curve slice. It helps to have direction.

This is the 3rd company I have come across using old versions of mastercam in the past year I have seen version 7 for a wire edm place version 4 for a cnc turning place and now 9 for another turning place.

I took a semister for Mastercam X I hope to use some of what I was taught before I forget it. I am a toolmaker during the day and getting experience with cam programing with smaller companies at night.

Mikes cd's look great I hope I can afford them someday. They are cheaper then classes.

if I were useing Master Cam X I would select- Create-Curves-create curve
It will ask you to click on the surface and drag to the direction of the edge and it will put an entity or line on the edge of a surface or solid.
