I have a friend who has V9 who recently went with another software. He wants to know If I would like to purchase his V9 for my garage shop. I have a vf2 and an older dynapath mill. I mainly do 2d work. How old is the V9 software and what may be a fair price for it? Thanks for any advice. Joe Simmers |

| It'll work fine with what you want to do...I believe the level one is around six grand and the 2 subsequent levels end up totalling around 12...so depending on the level would be your negotiating point.. I believe it's somewhere around year 01 or 02, but if your going to need support than I'd call cnc software to see what they can do for you first. Where I work we're still using V9, he has x2 but hasn't loaded it yet..Why I don't know, but I do alot of 3-d stuff and never had an issue. |

| Joe check with your local dealer as ther are restrictions to selling and buying of Mastercam Softwares. You need to find out exactly what level they have and if you can get the Sim# to give the dealer they will be able tell you every thing about it.

| Re-licenseing is almost 1/2 the cost of buying a new seat. So if you spend more than 50% of a new seat you'll get screwed. If you dont ever plan to update it and dont plan on licensing it, It really doesnt matter. If you want to know what he has and how much it will cost, do this. Open Mastercam and press Alt V this will display the version number and Level number in the lower left of the screen. Do this in Mill, Lathe and Wire edm if he has them. Let me know the level # and we can give you an idea of what it's worth. Mike Mattera
