Could someone explain me what is the difference between compensation type of the tool (Off, Computer, Control, Wear, Reverse Wear) ? What should I use in order not to use G41 or G42 (for lathe) or to input in the tool offset the radius value of the insert. I wouldn't came up with such a basic question, but the "Lathe training tutorial" book does not refer at all at this subject. Thank you |

| Computer calculates the tool path based on the tool nose radius. Control calculates the tool path using a tool with no radius. So you have to input the radius and the radius location in the machine. If you want to use g41 or g42 use control. If not using g41 ,g42 use computer but make sure when you select the tool your using it has the same tool nose radius your using. I always use computer for lathe work.
