Glad it helped. will be doing a new one with a new file and more detail in the next week.
Also a new engraving one to with more options.
This a good place for me to do my video testing.

more videos ?

Hi

Your video was very usefull, i copied your settings and it worked fine. One thing i was wondering, contour path was cutting outside.. but i changed direction and its ok.

If you are making more videos, i would say that the most useful video would be "how to get started"-video. Normally when we start using some new program, we dont have a clue what to do first, what should be considered as a must and what are critical settings. Settings, defining stock, defining geometry, origo, defining different shapes etc. those are very usefull skills to know, what to do first.

Also would be very usefull to show different machining situations, problematic situations and solving them, and the final process, G-code generation procedure.

If its ok, i can create a part "beginner style"-part, which have many different, machinable features, and you could show us how to do them.

Maniac Draw away.are you going to make a part with few sides to cut and would you like to see how to cut and hold the part and use the one file for multy setups and varify all at once but output say 4,5 or 6 programs from one file?

That video was great cadcam, first time i understood how to do pockets from 3D-models

Do you happen to have any other videos out there or is it just this one so far?
Looking forward to more videos

next solved puzzle..

Hi again

I tested cadcams methods with X, and i think i got it, the basic use with pockets, contours and faces are ok now, but few basic questions are on my mind. Which method is better, to chain a lot of contours, faces etc together, or separate them to different operations? My concern is that when i chain lot of contours, tool jumps up and down and sideways too much. I would prefer that the tool stays on one area at the time and when that area is finished, it moves to another. Now if i chain a lot of contours or even pockets, tool cuts air allmost half of the time, bad thing. Can i combine contours more efficiently to get rid of from cutting air????

Here is my next finished part, little bit complicated than the last one, but only a little, good to have some practice with the program. Here you can see toolpaths with a lot of tool up and downs.

Soon i will post a part which has a little more to think of, at least for me

Thank you, another great video

Ps. Is it just me or does anyone else have problems with the sound in these videos?
I don't know how to describe it but it sounds like there is some speeded up sound in the background here and there, sometime the sound freezes completely so i have to click the progressbar and jump forward a couple of seconds to get it to work.
Had the same problem both on my linux and windows machine.

Hi.
I have let it download completely and then hit play, same problem. I'll try to record the sound from it somehow and post it for you, if i can figure out how to do that

EDIT: I extracted the sound to a .mp3 and played it in my mp3player, that works fine. So i assume there is something wrong with my flashplugin.
Version: Shockwave Flash 9.0 r115
