    Post in MX2

    New to Mastercam, forgive me!

Using MX2 to create wire programs, and I have some .MCX files saved that I know worked.

My question is this, when I post them I get a .NCI file or .CMD file - how do I convert this file to machine code?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    KJ

I am out of my element here as I'm not even sure what a "wire program" is. I know that you first have to select a post processor from "Machine Type" in the top line. Never heard of a post processor putting out anything except machine code. I would have to say that you didn't select a post processor. Don't know you achieved any kind of output without one, tho.

I await an expert's answer so I can learn something myself.

If so a NC file is a G-code file your machine uses with the .CMD file comand file I believe this is called. I know some people use the G-code file and some use both files to run the machine.
