I am trying to import .igs files into Mastercam X2 and can't get it to contain anything but trimmed nurb surfaces? I can import these same files using v.9 and convert them. Then save them as a mc9 file, open them in v.X2 and they contain lines, arcs etc...? Is there a way to do the same in v.X2 and save some time? Last edited by STEELwaryor; 10-25-2007 at 08:59 AM. |

| when you go to open and set it for Igs there is a Options button check in there to see what options they are set for.

| If its not there to begin with you can't have it in your file. Like in Solidworks when you write the .igs file you have the option of including all the lines and arcs and splines in the .igs file or not. If Solidworks is set up to leave them out your not going to get them no matter what you do in Mastercam. Check with your source and make sure they are writing the file the right way.

| So like you stated if they are there in V9 it has to be the options to bring them in. You can send me the IGS and I can check for you.

| What level do you have. Are you trying to 3d it or 2d it?

| All good. I was not sure what you had and exactly what you were trying to do. Look at my sig and there is some MC stuff to just look thru.

| Heres what i do with trimmed surface iges. screen>unblank entities>all>wireframe>screen >combine views>delete duplicates. now you have wireframe, and surfaces. delete all>surfaces Then your left with wireframe. Depending what system Iges was created with, wireframe may need to be cleanedup. |
