Try going to MasterCam website. I think they have some books.
Hi everyone! First time in this forum and glad to find so many in the same field.
What is the title of the book or books NTMA is using to teach advanced mastercam X?
I learned basic 2D programming and 3D modeling pretty much on my own. I live too far away from a NTMA center and my work place is offering to take those classes.
Too far and takes too long to learn something I am very quick at: mathematics and computer. So kinda hoping I can just get the books and learn on my own.
I've only been programming with Mastercam X but so far I've not been so happy about it when it comes to 3D model programming especially with the whole fillet and chamfer surfaces. If you don't notice the littlest details, Mastercam X will crash on you as it did to me MANY times and gave me hard learn lessons to turn my autosave on every 5 mins.
Happy programming!

Go to emastercam.com they have links to Inhouse solutions series of books. They have some of the best training manuals around.
WaterOX when I was teaching at the NTMA it we used the books from In-House . these can be found were Rickyt stated. As for MC crashing on you, was this at class as the NTMA? they never updated the computers to work with MC-X correctly and they do not understand the settings as I tried to explane to them.
I set my Autosave to 20 min and I am lucky if the software crashs on me every other month. But I am using X2 mr2 at this time.
If you have not updated to newer then the First Mastercam X, this is some of the trouble. you should be running min of Mastercam X-SP2 if you never updated after that or stayed on Maintenance.

Hey I have a bit of a problem with Mastercam X2:
I installed the X2 and the patch but it wouldn't let me do surface roughing. It said "Level 2 is required to surface rough".
What can I do to remedy this? I tried reinstalling the X2 and repairing the X2 service pack 1. Now when the Mastercam X2 starts it appears Mill Level 3 but it seems like it's running only on level 1 and wouldn't let me do surface roughing. Even tried the patch from emastercam.com
Help!!!!! thanks a bunch.
PS I do have Mastercam X and X2 on the same computer but I installed the patches to correct directory of X2.
What type of hasp do you have ?
Waterox you are telling me you are patching the system is this SP1 service patch?
I can help you check the hasp level and you need to reply to Matt’s question of what type of Hasp are you running White Dongle or Purple Hasp?

What is an Industrial Dongle or Hasp???
The ones I have seen are the Printer Port type for type older Versions, USB Thumb Nail or Net Hasp which I believe is an Internet type.
Do you know the SIM #.
That will probably help too. It's Alt "S" or something like that. I forget.
