7.8.9 Currently On X2mr2 NEED LARGE BREAST ICON

10 years on Mastercam 7, 8, 9, now going to community college for X.
The instructor doesn't even know 7,8,9.
I worked on EasyCam and didn't think EasyCam was easy because of all the squiggley line icons, Gibbs, and all the others use stupid icons.
Looks to me like Mastercam coppied EdgeCam and a few others.
Idiot software makers, now I'm just another mouse moving idiot.
Modify Drag Translate Window Done 5 KEY STROKES
Modify Trim 2, entities 3 KEY STROKES
As long as you can configure where you put icons, why not customize them.
How about a large breast icon, instead of a ghost icon?
AK-47 icon instead of worthless squiggley line icon.
How about a knife stabbing a heart icon, with blood, for exit Mastercam.

SO you are complaining or what did you need some thing I see some sort of a rant going here but not sure issues. So your instructor does not know 7-8-9 I think that he or she should have past time on these softwares.
As an instructor I know Quick silver the first MC to X2MR2. I have been cutting with X2 for almost two months now.

So you want a large brest Icon for non posting instead of the ghost?

To Crazy Thunder Re: Loser

Since my first machine shop job in 1977 my goal was never to work for someone else. I have worked at over 100 shops in my 30 years machining.
I always knew I would be a machine shop owner.
Some years I had 10 jobs, If I didn't like the place, I would quit.
( Los Angeles has thousands of shops)
If you have a ****ty job, it makes your whole life ****ty.
In 2000 I started my shop in Fremont Ca.
It was a life changer.
I like living in the mission district of Fremont, in fact sometimes when I pull in my driveway I pinch myself and say: ****, I live here.
I have a website but I wouldn't want to show it here because of people like you.
Bye

What?

I cannot believe any one other than some one that knows absolutely nothing about a machine would need community college for Mastercam or any other CAD/CAM package. I bought the solids, lathe, mill tutorial books and the the X textbook by Lin&Shay and have been very successful with X2. Going from Autocad to X2 solids has been rough since my fingers are still thinking Acad instead MCX2 however it is easier but not as powerful as Acad AFTER you learn how to use it. I highly recommend changing professions, I suspect you are working for a competitor of Mastercam and intend on stirring up crap with the intent of steering people away from buying Mastercam

(I cannot believe any one other than some one that knows absolutely nothing about a machine would need community college for Mastercam or any other CAD/CAM)So you are saying that all my students are idoits then. So you think everyone should just stumble thru learning to use the tools that it has to offer.
I bet there are allot of tools you most likley do not know because no one has showed you.

or do you feel they should not go to there dealer for training either. I am trying to see were you folks are coming from.

Thanks Cadcam

You are taking it out of context, community college is for people that have zero knowledge about a subject and would like to become more knowledgeable about the subject. Some one that has been in the field for along time should have a enough sense to know what is going on. Do you take driving lessons when you go from a Ford to Chevy. The fundamentals are all identical it is a matter if comprehending the details. I have not been to dealer training so I cannot comment on the results of going in that direction.

Fox I believe that you comprehend the books and learn well from poking around and reading some of the books. This is not the majority of people I am sorry to say.
But I have to say most of my training was from doing but I always asked questions of the other users to grow. I have had a few classes to get more. Mostly from the dealer conferences put on by CNC software I also have been tested so I can carry a certification in teaching Mastercam and I have been selling MC for about 6 years now and instructed at machining training centers and collages. Allot of my students are past users trying to get more from the software then they have. Also with the change from V9 and earler to the new GUI this brought allot of them back in to learn at a better pass from someone that knows it.

(Do you take driving lessons when you go from a Ford to Chevy.)No you don’t but if you go from a ford to a Nascar and I want you to drive 200 MPH and stay 10” from the rail there is a learning issue that me be needed for this correct.
What you and I may take for granted or as you are calling common sense is not the same for all.
I have learned this one for sure from running the shop to teaching and being a contractor for over 10 years.

Thanks Fox for your time and I hope you understand were I am coming from.

Fox,
I have been Programming, teaching, and Learning Mastercam for over 15 years now. 90% of all my student at the college level are mostly very sucessful trades people working in the shops using Mastercam around our area.
They take the classes to better their knowledge in Mastercam. It is great that you can learned all there is about Mastercam from books you must be very smart, you should consider paying it forward and teaching at one of your local colleges this could help somebody less fortunate who maybe can't afford the books you bought or maybe they don't have a computer at home.
When I teach I tell my students the day I quit learning Mastercam is the day I die or never turn a computer on again. I too am mostly self taught through books and trial and error (Many errors) but I wouldn't trade it for anything this doesn't make me any better because I'm self taught through books. I have been making specialized videos and possibly an on-site college courses to show how the software works, because many people don''t or can't learn from books.

Steve, I would enjoy teaching. Problem is when you own a company my time is 100% consumed by it. Oddly, I am an Electrical Engineer, I got into machine sales business by accident and then started another company for contract machining, milling and turning. I love EE but, at the time I did not realize how limited EE would become. Going the BSME route would have been much better choice at least in the midwest. So I had to learn all the machining stuff the hard way since I never worked in a "machine shop". It is nice being able to go from concept to the real thing by yourself.
