New Version out for Mastercam.

Newest release ifs out for Mastercam X2MR2 you need to be on the latest Maintenance. Enhancements include a dockable Operations manager, Active level's Manager, Also short cut assignment in the open dialog box. As far as anything really new for toolpaths not really. Have peel milling added which is a highspeed toolpath. Lathe got nothing as usually which sucks.

Thank you for the post, it is downloading right now. I hope they do enough to justify our $1700 a year maint. contract. I wish they would work on the CAD side and get that more robust.

What do you want a list that lists feature to feature I do not know of a thing.
If you have some questions some of us should be able to answer.

Who has the best support, Mastercam or Gibbs?
Good question I am going to make statment but I am a little Bios so I going to take from what I get at Westec show for the last say 4 years allot.
As I am working the booth across from Gibbs I find talking to people that come over from gibbs to mastercam there biggest complant was the support.

Gibbs is a good software I fill and see.

Now on the mastercam side there has alwas been a push with most of the dealers for haveing dealers and a big push of dealers and support in all areas.
Mastercam has had a reputations for the dealer network so this also shows for in the support.

put not all the dealers are as supportive as they should so it really matters allot on the dealers for the area.

Also look around your area to to see what options for trainning beside the dealer do you have. I know here in southern California almost every Collage offers mastercam and allot of trade schools on top of the local dealer has two office to help with support. This is also were Gibbs is located right in the middle of all what is stated and it is hard to trainning here for Gibbs.

This is from what I have seen and heard. So do your homework for your area.

But last but not least have a demo for both softwares and find what you think works for your needs and comfort.

Hi Tobyaxis,

Up until a few weeks ago, the latest version was X2-MR1. The newest version is now X2-MR2.

OK then... Toby it is.

X3 will probably be several months away...

X2-MR2 does have some significant improvements though.
