Mastercam 8 slows down my computer

    Hi guys,

I have a strange problem. I installed MasterCAM 8.0 on my desktop computer (3GHz P4, 1Gb RAM, win XP) and the program runs sooooo slooow. Tried it on my laptop (1,8GHz P4, 256Mb RAM, win 2k) with the same result.

Have you heared about this problem before? What can I do?
    /Christian

use the comapatability wizard in Xp to change Mastercam to run under WIN2000pro.
the wizard is found under the Accessories button.

My video card (at least on my desktop) is hardly an issue. It's a 256Mb Radeon 9800 PRO. When I start the program the whole computer just gets slow and using the program is just not possible cos everything lags 3-5 sec. I have tried to reinstall but it doesn't help.

That card is your issue . we do not recomend these card by that they do not handle open GL.

When using MC we recomend using Nvidia chipset cards like a Qudro FX 500.

Turn down the hardware arccelaration for the video and see if this helps.

Why is the verify in version8 so slow? I can machine the parts faster than I verify the program.
