| Hi all, Please bear in mind I am learning Mastercam X2 and in general, CNC milling. I am currently using the default HAAS 4 axis post for my TM1. I've gone through and updated the machine and control definition for 3 axis as well as made some minor changes to the post (turned off line numbers). The problem is, the generated G-Code does not seem to be using any circular interpolation commands. It appears that the post is generating a crap load of small linear moves to make arcs. To me, the machine seems to have trouble with those small moves as it shakes and vibrates while cutting curves which messes up the finish and accuracy. The mill slows waaay down in those curves and while the control says the feed rate has not changed, it effectively is. In the longer linear moves the mill is running at the correct feed rate and does a superb job. We were using SolidCAM before and the G-code it generates uses some circular interpolation moves and does not appear to limit the machine. The machine did not seem to slow down in the curves like it does with MasterCam. So my questions are:
Thanks. |

| Filter with arcs use .001 at first, find the total tolerance button in the surface toolpath and turn it on. test to see if it works with your machine first. this should help. Steve www.cad2cam.net
