text engraving in Mastercam...

So, I have Mill level 1 in Mcam X.
Is there any way I can do simple text? Part numbers and stuff...

I figured out that I can use contour milling, but are there any fonts out there that are of a single line design? I tried using the "drafting" font, but the numbers come out looking funny. I can use the others that come with MCAM, but they are more of a block font. I have a LOT of parts to do, and I don't want the machine to be doing more than it needs to....

I use Mastercam's "stick" font for nearly everything I do.

I set the aspect ratio to .8

MASTERCAM'S stick font can't be adjusted.....
you have to try in other bold fonts & try to offset that

I ended up using MCAM's "block" font. The stick font made funny looking "1's" and "6's"

Look on the internet for a font you like and buy it and mastercam will use any font that is in your computer.

Will that produce single line toolpaths? (the actual letter, not the G-code) I would like to try different fonts, but I don't want to end up with block style letters, regardless of how nice they look.....

Font that are not Mastercam fonts will create splines for geometry, the programs will not be single line. I'm not sure if this answers your question.
