| I'm not sure what youre looking for? are you trying to make a blueprint. If you want to scale a part then go to xform/scale select your part and enter scale factor. IF you want to make a blueprint you can copy the part then scale it up and change your global settings for drafting to scale to the right size. I hope this helps. Joe |

| well im opening a dxf file, in autocad it scaes right, 21.00 inches in length. when i open it in mastercam it shows me that the part is 10.500 inches in length. so when i create a tool path it does half the the size pocket in half the location. cant seem to find hw to change the scale. i know its right in front of my face. |

| It must be autocad related. The only thing I can think of is to scale it in either autocad or mastercam after its imported I don't think there is an option in mastercam to scale on import. Except for parts mc thinks are metric and I've only seen it in an iges file. So import it and scale it like I said xform/scale then move it to the correct position. Maybe your dxf is a paper space drawing so it has scaled it to fit on the paper size for your layout. Try changing your layout to 1:1 scale? Joe |

| In Autovad your working woth a scale factor in the drawing. But the drawing is drawn to 1/2 size. Anything you ask Autocad about the drawing will be correct. When you output it in another format, the Actual dimensions are 1/2 size. Xform - Scale - factor of 2 will make it twice as big. Factor of .5 will make it 1/2 smaller. Mike Mattera

| This is also how you convert metric drawings. Xform - Scale - All - Entities - Factor .0394 Makes every metric unit of "1" = to an inch unit of .0394 (the inch value of 1mm). Mike Mattera

| Yeah its an easy fix. autocad is sometimes like a cartoon it looks good, tells you what you think you want to hear, than when you export it its not exactly what you thought it was going to be. I can't understand why autocad doesn't understand end users plans with their drawings. If you drew up anything on pro-e or solidworks it would import directly into a number of cam programs with no problems?? Joe |
