Wintopo has a free raster to vecter converter if you can't do it in Mastercam
I have used it it works good.I do blieve you have to have engraving or art to use this converter in Mcam

We usually create our logos and artwork in Corel Draw and export them as DXF files into our CAD program. We then size, scale and position the artwork and export this to our CAM system which we can then program cutter paths to.

Wintopo will convert .jpg .bmp etc. to dxf and dwg format so you can import to mastercam or anyother cam package for that matter.

Does Wintopo convert the edges to line/arcs/splines?

I'd always import it as a raster image in ACAD and then trace over it manually with splines, time consuming, but it did the job...

there has to be a better way of doing it

I am not sure of you version but here is how I can import images.

    I am using MasterCam X2 MR1 Router level I

Press Alt+C to open the chooks folder.
Find the Rast2vec.dll and press open
    Find you image.
The rest takes seat time and some tweaking to get the hang of it.

So the Rast2vec.dll is not included in all versions of MasterCam?
Can this .dll be transferred into another MasterCam as long as they are the same version and level?
