Are you going to do anything with surfacing or the high speed paths?

MsterCam v8 Lathe Issues

Hey There

I am having a heck of a time getiing our copy of Mastercam Lathe V8.11 configured to give me tool paths I can use.

I am using Autocad (2000 and 2004) to create the profiles -

I have Lathe set for +XZ and the tool plane as top. I an using a quarter inch wide threading tool, cutting 0.03 per pass ( it;s a Rhino ST6 lathe)

When I go to rough and try to designate a chain - no go, but when I change color or level, the chain goes from start to end ... go figure

I am using 1.5 furring strips for stock - (2.12 accross the diagonal) and some mahogony (sp) of the same size to give the students somthing to whittle down.....

We ran mastercam lathe in the past, made a bunch of ink pen profiles, but the computer that hosted the program ..... was lost in a District wide "Technology upgrade".

Any help or advice on setting up mastercam so I can get out of the "hand written program" realm ... Would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
