What is this ERROR?

Morning beautiful people
Question, i was able to configure my MX2 at home fine yet some mugg here at the shop thought he would set up MX2 here and when I go to post a drawing and it's tool paths I get this error, "ERROR- Write NC operation must be enabled in Control deinition- set and repost." what the heck is this, see below. only after closing the editor will the posted program show up. What's up with that? Any help would be a great help.

Gerry

What you are looking at is the Mastercam NCI file. What you want to do when posting is Not save the NCI file but Save the NC file. The NC file is the Gcode that you will run on your machine tool. The NCI file does not really need to be saved anymore like it did with older systems. Some people out there still need it but what you are after is the Gcode.

Let us know if you have more questions.

Well one thought is NCI can be used on an outside source post system.
Another is the C-hook Section this is used for say large surfacing progamms were you need to break it up to get into the control when you do not have a way of Drip feeding.
and there are more.

In the days before Operations Managers, when you created a tool path, MCam would make an NCI (NC Intermediate) file. When all of your tool paths were done, you would "link" them together in the order you wanted to post the final NC file.

NCI's file have no real purpose anymore to the average user. But they can help for debugging problems with the output and the things Jay mentioned above.
