try using the upper arc as chain, that's probably what you are doing wrong.
your toolpaths are being generated in the x minus direction.
I have access to both a CNC Sherline mill and lathe. I have pretty much got everything working on the mill and I can import a drawing from AutoCAD into Mastercam Mill generate the post and it runs perfect.
However, I am having some trouble with the lathe. The lathe has a lower tool post but the posts from Mastercam always seem to be generated for a tool post that is positioned above the part or away from the front of the machine but on the Sherline, it's in front of the part so as a result it tries to move the tool across the stock to the other side to cut it from there.
I have tried to change the tool direction and change the tool post position to down in the job setup but it doesn't seem to make a difference. The verifications also look correct when I run them in Mastercam but when I go to the machine, it doesn't work correctly.
I attached a picture of the part in Mastercam. I have been generating a rough toolpath by selecting the lower arc as a chain. Also, the zero point is the center of the part on the right side. Any help is appreciated.

If you'd rather have it appear in MC9 as it is on your machine, you can change it in Job Setup>General>Spindle/Turret

I agree with riverrat you're defining the machine correctlly but picking the wrong side of x for you're geometry. so it's doing what your telling it to do but your telling it to do the wrong thing. I hope this helps
